Getting around Lesotho

It is very easy to get around Lesotho either driving or using public transport. Please remember though, that patience is an African virtue and understand that journeys may take a little longer than you'd like them to.

Getting around Lesotho by taxi

Regular taxis will pick you up if you call. There is also a fleet of "special hire" taxis or '4+1's' that carry you wherever you want that are more expensive than minibuses.

For the independent traveller, public transport operates on all but the four wheel drive tracks. Buses cover the longer journeys while minibus taxis do many of the shorter stretches.
