Dinosaur footprints and Bushman paintings
In several places in the Lowlands, dinosaur footprints have been exposed in the sandstone where covering layers have been eroded away. The original inhabitants of Lesotho were the San (or Bushmen) and they have left us a rich heritage of their rock art. Where the cave sandstone layer is exposed, rock art will not be far away. Many panels have deteriorated badly, so please don't wet or touch any of the paintings and don't let your guide do so either. Ask locally for more information on both these features - some sites are described further on.
